Trip to the Butterfly Conservatory
Early in July we took children from our homework club and their families on a trip to the Butterfly Conservatory in Niagara Falls.
This was a full day event which included a tour of the museum, crafts and activities for the kids and ended with a vist to Niagara Falls.
We are trying to expand both children and their parent's boundaries beyond those of St James Town. Children who are new to Canada need to be exposed to new words to expand their vocabularies as do their parents need to learn more about their adopted country. How many of us remember going on picnics, enjoying the outing as much as the destination?
Children growing up in a densely populated area learn first hand about nature and butterflies. How many people choose their life's work based on what they experienced as a child?
We would like to than our trip sponsors Daytrippers for making this an enjoyable and educational experience for us all.
