Community Assistants
YMCA Peace Medallion: Ali Moallim was awarded the 2008 YMCA Peace Medallion presented annually during Peace Week to recognize the achievements of individuals like Ali who -without any special resources-demonstrate in their lives and activities the values expressed in the World Alliance of YMCAs' 1981 Statement on Peace,
The Catherine Parr Traill award was awarded in 2009 to Dianna Jiang. The award “pays homage to the hope, resolution, and perseverance of women who through hard work, courage and resilience, with integrity and a positive attitude have struggled through hardship in order to make a new life for themselves and their families in Canada”.
Community Matters
The Public Health Champions Award Community Matters is the 2009 recipient of this award which recognizes individuals or organizations that have made outstanding contributions to protecting and promoting the health of Toronto’s residents.
